Taking pictures with low ambient light is the great strength of this lens, which makes it ideal for working with selective sharpness, as well as indoor and outdoor photography without a flash even in low light conditions. With the super-wide aperture aperture of 2.8, objects can be exposed to a blurred background. This results in a particularly beautiful contrast between the sharpest main motif and the selective blur in the surroundings. It has also been designed for the special needs of filmmakers and videographers

Designed for the best
For the best possible optical performance of the lens, the light flux was optimized especially on the basis of the ratio of the lens lens to the position of the sensor of the Sony cameras. The high-quality 14 mm 2.8 lens has been designed compactly despite its solid metal housing.

High quality optics
The interior life of this lens consists of 14 glass elements arranged in 10 groups. Thus, a small minimum focusing distance of only 25 cm is possible. 3 aspheric lenses reduce chromatic aberrations and imaging errors, which results in high imaging performance. This is reflected by sharp pictures with crisp contrasts and natural colors. The construct is rounded off with a multilayer coating which avoids reflections and ghosting.

Advantages of a full-frame lens on a camera with APS-C sensor
Save time in post-processing. A variety of lens errors such as distortion, edge blur, or vignetting appear on the outside of the image. If you are using a full-sized lens on a camera with APS-C sensor, these areas are not used. This gives the maximum quality. Additional post-processing time for correcting lens errors is thus eliminated.
