The operation is really simple: Switch off your camera, open the battery compartment and take out the batteries. Now remove the protection cap from the battery grip and slide it into the battery tray. After just a few seconds you are ready and can take pictures and film for twice as long. The ergonomic and compact design supports the handling of the camera, especially when taking pictures with long and heavy lenses.
The anti-skid grip surface ensures that your camera will not slip unintentionally and provides the necessary safety. The Grip is particularly flexible regarding the power supply: you can either use it with two lithium ion accumulators (e.g. LP-E6) or with six Mignon batteries.
The Battery Grip will also impress you with some special features, which make photographing even easier. The Grip has different operation elements, which are also available on your camera, e.g. AE storage/FE lock, one button for AF point selection and exposure correction. It also comes with a button for setting f-stop and shutter speed. These buttons will be especially helpful to you for portrait format shootings due to their better reachability.
Naturally the Battery Grip is equipped with a tripod thread, just like your camera, and can be mounted securely on a tripod, e.g., for longer shootings.
